Welcome to MD/MAGIC Preschool! Our team is excited to work with your children and we look forward to a great year!
We use a developmentally appropriate curriculum to improve communication development, social-emotional and self-help development, fine and gross motor development, and cognitive development. The children are actively engaged in fun activities and learn through play and exploration.
Our team includes our School Psychologist, Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, and Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. We work closely with each other to help our students reach their goals and beyond.
Jana Beck, Suzet Christiansen, and Eleanor Johnstone are our amazing paraprofessionals and are also very valuable members of our team. They all have tremendous energy and patience as well as a warm and nurturing manner with our children.
This is my fifteenth year in Early Childhood Special Education. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. This is my sixth year teaching MD/MAGIC Preschool with Gilbert Public Schools and my fifth at Pioneer Elementary. Previously, I had taught Early Childhood Special Education for 9 years in New York including both Preschool and Early Intervention (Birth to Three). I am married and live in Gilbert. My husband and I have 13 year old triplet daughters at Highland Junior High School.
